Who is Reaping the Benefits of India’s High Economic Growth?

The Indian economy has shown sustained growth under the Modi government, with GDP growth of around 7 percent every year in 2017-18. However, the prosperity is not evenly distributed. On most indicators, India is now among the countries with the highest level of inequality. This raises questions about the distribution of gains from the growth.

Inclusive growth had been a major promise during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2014 campaign, which needs to be re-examined.
