Our Response To Cyclone Phailin (Odisha)

Our Response To Cyclone Phailin (Odisha)

Cyclone Phailin was one of the worst cyclones to hit the east coast of Odisha in 10 years. Though the loss of lives was limited due to effective early warning and evacuation by the state, Phailin affected over 8 million people in eastern state of Odisha.

Oxfam’s initial response focused on life-saving support – providing food-aid, safe water and cash transfer to affected communities and also provisioning of sanitation facilities and livelihood assistance to meet people’s immediate food security needs.
