Relief material from India reach Gorkha district in Nepal

Large supplies of relief and aid material from India has reached the Gorkha district, one of the worst affected in massive #NepalEarthquake.

After assessing the damage to the Gorkha district in Nepal, the team of Oxfam from India has secured a warehouse and office space to accommodate the emergency response team and additional personnel who are being moved to Gorkha. 

Emergency shelter and hygiene kits including water containers, solar lamps and EPI foam sheets have reached Gorkha. 

It consists of 1500 emergency kits consisting of tarpaulins, water containers, EPI foam sheets, solar lamps, latrine construction materials, water purifiers and chlorine tablets.

The team on the ground aims to provide relief material to nearly 70,000 men, women and children in the district.

Distribution of relief material to 611 households will start on May 3, 2015. 

Relief material for an additional 4500 households is being moved to Gorkha.
